It was quiet outside Kukhkini's Grocery this morning. Or as quiet as it ever was this late in to tourist season. Hardly anyone spared the two figures on the curb more than a passing glance. Lilo retrieved the fishing poles from the shopping bag before passing Stitch their ace in the hole.
"On my mark, okay?"
"Ih," the alien grunted in affirmation, prying the lid off with stubby, clawed fingers.
"Okay. Wait for it... RELEASE THE SPAM!"
The tin's contents hit the storm drain's grate with a sad "plut". Lilo nudged it the rest of the way through with a foot. Both of them peered down into the depths in anticipation.
"They're not buying it. Here, put on your disguise."

"And my dad says that if sales pick up by the end of the summer, we'll be in a higher tax bracket so I might get to have my pony next year."
"Doesn't your dad run a t-shirt shop?"
"Quiet, Yuki."
"Hi, Myrtle!"
At the greeting, Myrtle Edmonds came to such an abrupt halt that Yuki and Elena bumped in to her. The three of them stared in mute horror. There, across the street, waving enthusiastically was Lilo Pelekai. Or... well, it couldn't be anyone else. No one else would be caught dead sitting on an upside down kiddy pail with a zombie mask over their head. The dog glared balefully at them over an enormous set of wax lips.

"Maybe they didn't see us."
"Grrrrr... Choota!"
"Shhhh. Put those back in, you'll scare the fish."
Off in the bushes, a frog croaked.
