Stitch is a genetically engineered life form created by the mad scientist Dr. Jumba Jookiba of Galaxy Defense Industries. Originally labeled Experiment 626, the creature was designed as a biological weapon. He would instinctively be drawn to large cities where he would cause destruction and chaos. After being sentenced to exile by the Galactic Federation and his subsequent escape from custody, Stitch crash landed on the island of Kauaʻi where he was mistaken for a dog and adopted from the animal shelter by Lilo Pelekai.

Since the events of the first film and being introduced to the concept of ʻohana, Stitch has become slightly more subdued in personality. What once manifested as dangerous aggression now usually displays itself as a mischievous sense of humor. He is extremely inquisitive, often at the expense of others and their property, and has very little respect for personal boundaries but usually doesn't mean any harm.

While Stitch can and does speak English reasonably well, he seems more comfortable speaking in his own incomprehensable dialect. A few seemingly familiar words may crop up from time to time, but odds are they aren't meant in the same way and generally the message is conveyed by tone. It's probably best that way. Judging by what's been inferred from the films, some of his vocabulary shouldn't be repeated in polite company.

Physical Description

Stitch stands just over two feet tall (approximately 25 inches) and resembles a blue koala with large bat-like ears. Ordinarily (and unless otherwise mentioned) he looks a little strange but has the standard issue two arms, two legs and if he lacked the blue fur, might be able to pass himself off as an animal from Earth. However, Stitch isn't exactly what he seems. In his "alien form" Stitch has a total of six limbs: four arms and two legs. He also has a pair of antennae that protrude from the crown of his head and a dorsal crest.

Abilities

Stitch boasts a veritable arsenal of unusual abilities. Among these are the fact that he can manipulate objects 3000 times his own weight. He also seems to be nearly invulnerable; having survived being run over by a convoy of trucks, a fall of several thousand feet, crashing a spacecraft and several explosions only to be briefly stunned. It's mentioned during his introductory appearance that he is both fire proof and bullet proof with the former being displayed in canon. Stitch also appears to be extremely intelligent. He's been able to figure out how to pilot a stolen spaceship within minutes, assemble a bomb out of household objects, play the ukulele after a few seconds instruction and seems to be a quick study when it comes to understanding languages. Stitch's greatest weakness is his inability to swim due to his high molecular density.

Continuity

For continuity purposes, the Stitch encountered in Milliways exists sometime between the events of Lilo and Stitch 2 and Stitch! The Movie.He is unaware that the other 625 experiments exist.
